Heads up🖐️ We decided to draw a line between the format of short storycards where we delve into the nitty-gritty of the Locus Chain technology and the #LocusTalks series that kicked off recently. Through #LocusTalks, we aim to actively engage with your thoughts and perspectives regarding blockchain technology usage. On the other hand, our #LocusUnchained storycards are dedicated to unveiling the multifaceted nature of Locus Chain technology. These cards provide insights into the various aspects and dimensions of the technology.

Continuing from our previous post on Locus Chain's Consensus Algorithm, let's delve into the mechanisms driving decision-making in distributed networks ⛏️ Proof-of-X algorithms often rely on physics (like computing speed limits) or economics (incentives for honesty, disincentives for deceit) for consensus. By blending PoS with BFT, we surpass traditional methods, simultaneously addressing storage and network load challenges and laying groundwork for solutions like pruning and sharding.

Locus Chain's Consensus Algorithm (POS.BFT📑) relies on a gossip network, ensuring fair and repeated distribution of information across nodes. The algo executes in rounds with voters and proposers chosen each round (read randomly selected nodes). Their goal is to calculate / verify / sign / broadcast hash values that make up Locus Chain. This ensures that eventually, all nodes receive the same information. The goal is to identify the information received by the majority of network nodes.

We continue to delve into the nitty-gritty of all things blockchain with the #LocusTalks series. Today we cover the topic of blockchain nodes, which is essential for understanding Verifiable Pruning, a know-how developed by Locus Chain that can reduce the node size considerably. We use Ethereum blockchain nodes as an example.
